What I wish to learn for Term 2
For term 2, I wish that I could learn more about the uses of the chemicals and what they could be used for. Also, I hope that I could do more of the Lab lessons.
Things I have learnt in my science lesson
In my science lesson, I learnt about the uses of the eqiupments and how to use it SAFELY. For example: When using the Bunsen burner, we should wear safety goggles to prevent the liquid to suddenly spill and go into my eyes. Also, we must turn off the gas tap when not in use as the gas is poisonous. I also learnt how to draw the equipments such as the flask, pipette, etc.
My reflections
I had learnt a lot about the science equipments that teachers at my primary school had not taught about. I feel that this is a valuable experience for me as we must use a lot of these equipments as we progress toward upper secondary. I also felt that we should be careful in using the chemical as some of them are poisonous and that we not mess about with them. I also think that the knowledges I learnt will be useful as I can apply the skills acquired to conduct my experiment.
Interesting fact and articles regarding term 1 topic
Find the article here: http://science.widener.edu/svb/olcc_safety/papers/benedict.pdf This article is a even detailed explaination of Lab safety rules. Through that article, I learnt a more detailed explaination of the Lab safety rules.
What improvement would you see in Term 2?
I wish to achieve better marks for the next class test as the results I had for this term is rather bad. Also, I hope to achieve good ACE points as I had chosen LSS as a subject for ACE. Also, I wished that I could have more understanding of what you are teaching.
Reflections on the things I have learnt
I felt that the things I have learnt are very good as the knowledge will come in useful when we uses the equipments and will not get injured easily if we obeyed the rules. Through the lesson, I also learnt other things beside science, such as learning to obey people so that you also will not get hurt yourself. But I feel that we could improve by explaining how to use the eqiuments in more detail.
